Google's Froogle Feeds

What are Froogle Feeds?

In December 2002, Google created a site that was specifically product based. Their intention was to separate informational results from product results at Google.com. Froogle was created to be a price comparison service to help you be more frugal with your money.

A Froogle Feed was simply one of the ways that you could upload your product images, descriptions, prices, etc. to Froogle for inclusion in their results.

On April 17, 2007, Google changed the name from Froogle to Google Product Search.

What is Google Product Search?

Google Product Search is a price comparison service launched by Google Inc. It is currently in beta test stage. Its interface provides an HTML form field into which a user can type product queries to return lists of vendors selling a particular product, as well as pricing information.

Google Product Search is different from most other price comparison services in that it neither charges any fees for listings, nor accepts payment for products to show up first. Also, it makes no commission on sales. Any company can submit individual product information to Google Product Search.
